The 72nd Republic Day of our Nation was celebrated with zeal and spirit at Jesus and Mary Convent School amidst the foggy and chilled weather in the presence of the Principal, Headmistress, staff, students and parents. A brief introduction and welcoming were done by Ms. Nandita Nandi. Principal Fr. Rogimon Thomas presided over the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by the National Anthem. In his message the Principal urged everyone to uphold the honour, integrity and dignity of the nation and to respect as well as protect the constitution by maintaining its secular character and sacredness. He thanked the sisters, teachers and all others who organized the event in a simple and meaningful manner. The school reverberated with patriotic favour and enthusiasm by the solo song sang by Sohini Nandi, student of class-II-A, and group song by the staff members. Everyone presents took oath by reciting the preamble of the constitution. The Celebrations concluded with tea and sweets.
