Independence Day was celebrated in the premises of Jesus and Mary Convent School with great enthusiasm in which the Principal of the school, Rev. Father Rogimon Thomas, Manager of the school, Father KK Thomas, Vice-Principal Sister Praveena and the Chief Guest Mr. GS Mishra, who is a retired military officer (Colonel), was present. The patriotic plays, dances and songs presented on the occasion filled the students with the spirit of patriotism and enthralled everyone. When the small children appeared on the stage in the form of great revolutionaries like Rani Laxmi Bai, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh etc., and then the scene of the freedom struggle came alive in front of all the students. Chief guest Mr. GS Mishra in his address informed the children about the steps to be taken to get admission in the National Security Academy and motivated them to be mentally and physically prepared for national security. The Principal of the school, Respected Rev.Father. Rogimon Thomas, while explaining the importance of freedom to the students, gave them a message to be aware of their duties as citizens and said that we all should perform our duties as citizens of the country with full devotion because patriotism is paramount. At the end of the program, thanks were given to the colleagues who made the event a success and everyone was congratulated.
