Jesus and Mary Convent School, Greater
Noida held its much anticipated sports
meet on 6th December 2024 filled with
excitement, enthusiasm and remarkable
display of athletic talents. The sports meet
was graced by our esteemed chief guest
Dr. Dharamveer Singh, District Inspector
of Schools, Rev.Father Andrew Correia,
Dean-Greater Noida Deanry, Manager
Rev.Father.K.K Thomas, Principal of the
School Rev.Father Saji. Palamattom, Vice
Principal.Rev.Sister Praveena, Pre Primary
incharge Rev.Sister Gracy and few other
guests from the school management were
present on the stage.
Rev.Father Andrew Correia lit the torch
and as the flame flickered to life, it
symbolised the spirit of competition
among athletes.The event started with the
March past by the respective houses and
the oath taking ceremony followed by
beating of the retreat. The Principal of the
School Rev.Father.Saji Palamottam along
with the chief guests released the balloons
and declared the meet open. The program
commenced with the welcome dance
followed by distribution of medals to
national award winners in various sports
events.Throughout the program, the
students participated in cultural events and
sports events, including track races, relays,
and field events. The atmosphere was
electric, with students, teachers, and
parents cheering passionately for the
participants. The chief guest in his speech
appreciated the students efforts
emphasized the importance of sports in
shaping character and promoting team
work.
The sports meet concluded with the
distribution of medals to the winners and
announcement of the winning houses, At
third place stood blue house, second place
green house and the winning house was
Red house. The Principal of the school
declared the closure of the sports meet by
putting off the torch light and with the
National anthem the event concluded.
The day not only highlighted the
importance of physical fitness but also
fostered a sense of community and school
pride. Overall, the sports meet was a
resounding success.
