Lord Krishna said “Whenever virtue declines and vice predominates, I incarnate as an Avatar. In visible form I appear to destroy evil and re-establish virtue.” On 6th September, Jesus and Mary Convent school celebrated the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna. To begin the function, the tiny tots of class Nursery wonderfully recited the rhyme “Radheyshyam” to express their devotional ardour. The Nursery group recitation was followed by a dance by the little angels of class LKG. Students dressed up as Radha and Krishna gave a mesmerising performance. Then the students of class UKG thrilled the audiences by an enactment of Lord Krishna’s famous Lila of stealing butter. The next presentation of the function was an enthralling recitation of a poem written by Ramdhari Singh Dinkar titled “Krishna Chetavni”. Keshav Devraj Rana of class 5th recited the poem with great fervour. Also class 5th students showcased their dancing talent through a group performance. To conclude the celebration, the manager of our school Rev. Father KK Thomas wished all the students and teachers.
